More Than a School: How CCA Builds Lasting Connections Among Families

Choosing a school isn’t just about academics — it’s about finding a community where your family belongs.

At Covenant Christian Academy, we believe that Christian education should be a partnership between home and school. That means creating a space where families feel connected, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.

From the moment you step onto our campus, you’ll sense something different. It’s in the way parents greet each other like old friends at drop-off, the way students gather to pray together before a big test, and the way families rally around each other in times of joy and crisis. This is a place where lifelong friendships are formed and faith is strengthened.

And that doesn’t happen by accident.

At CCA, we recognize how special our school community is, so we’ve made it part of our ministry and mission. We set aside a portion of our budget for a director of community care. We welcome and encourage family involvement. We work hard to communicate and keep everyone in the know.

We’re intentional, and it shows.

The Power of a Covenantal School Community

One of the reasons relationships at CCA feel so strong is because we are a covenantal school. That means at least one parent from every family that enrolls is committed to partnering with us in Christian education, sharing the same foundational beliefs and values. This shared faith creates an immediate bond:

  • Stronger Parent Connections – It’s easier to build deep friendships when you know you’re surrounded by families who share your faith and values.
  • A Unified Approach to Education – Because our families share a biblical worldview, CCA can integrate faith seamlessly into academics, extracurriculars, and daily life.
  • Lifelong Friendships – Many of our families vacation together, attend the same churches, and remain close long after their children graduate. There’s a special depth to the relationships formed in a community where faith is the common thread.

CCA is more than just a school. It is a family of like-minded believers that rally behind you when there are celebrations and, more importantly, when life is hard. My family lost my brother suddenly. Our CCA family encouraged and supported us in many ways. They served us like Jesus served.”

Meaningful Ways to Get Involved

We know that life is busy, and every family has different capacities to engage. That’s why CCA offers a variety of ways for parents to be part of school life, from dropping by during the school day to finding at-home opportunities to stay involved.

A few ways you can spend time getting to know other parents:

  • Join the Parent Council: Whether you help plan Homecoming, coordinate the Medieval Feast, or assist with other activities, your involvement directly strengthens the bonds between families. These events and traditions create chances for families to connect and make a lasting impact on the school.
  • Moms in Prayer: This group provides a powerful way for moms to lift up the school community in prayer. They pray for students, parents, and teachers and invite every CCA mom to join their weekly prayer meetings.
  • Classroom & Event Volunteering: Moments like chaperoning a field trip, planning a class party, and helping with a school production naturally bring parents together. Many lasting friendships start from serving side by side.

A Community That Cares

One of the most beautiful aspects of CCA is the way families care for each other. In moments of hardship, our community steps up in tangible ways. Meal sign-ups fill up in minutes when a family is in need. Parents organize carpools, help with childcare, and even offer financial support when times get tough. In one instance, a family struggling with transportation was given a minivan — an overwhelming act of generosity that speaks to the heart of our community.

Oh, what a blessing Covenant has been to us. We lost my husband and my children’s sweet daddy unexpectedly to cancer almost 2 and a half years ago. To say we were and still are devastated would be an absolute understatement. But in true Covenant fashion, they rallied around our family with prayer, support, gifts, food — you name it, they provided it.
Becoming a widow and a single mother of two beautiful kids is one of the hardest, unexpected things I’ve ever endured. By God’s good grace and faithfulness, we have received tuition assistance allowing me to continue to raise our children in the amazing environment they had already grown accustomed to. Thank you doesn’t even seem sufficient enough to express the gratitude I feel.”

And the friendships made at CCA don’t end at graduation. We have an active Alumni Association with job boards and dedicated social media accounts. Our alumni return for Homecoming and Alumni Weekend, and our families continue to meet for dinner and coffee long after their children have moved out.

The friendships formed here truly last a lifetime.
