CCA Student Spotlight: Logan Leger

Logan’s high school journey has been a testament to hard work, growth, and perseverance—both in and out of the classroom. Having spent most of his life at CCA, he cherishes the school’s close-knit community, where students are encouraged to embrace their uniqueness while deepening their understanding of God’s glory.

Logan’s favorite sport was most definitely football. His heart was captured by the adrenaline rush, excitement, and spirit of a team working together to battle it out on the field. He said, “There is nothing like going out on Friday night lights with fans cheering and high energy. Football taught me about perseverance and how the fight and journey you go through for the sport is just like your relationship with Christ because it is not easy. There are always people who will ridicule you and others who look stronger in their faith than you, making you want to give up. But God’s love and the victory in him is worth the battle.” Like David facing the giant Goliath, Logan embodies the belief that no matter what other people say or how daunting the obstacles appear, he can overcome great challenges with God by his side.

Logan appreciates that during high school, he played multiple sports while performing in the musical and leading his peers in worship during weekly chapel. He didn’t have to choose one sport or fine arts; this well-rounded education made him a kinder, more understanding human. His favorite class is Worship Ensemble. Logan said, “He genuinely enjoys going there every day to sing praises to God and share worship with others.”

There are so many things about Logan that make him exceptional.  For one, he always puts everything he has into whatever he is doing.  He comes prepared, works really hard to learn and grow in his craft, and leads the underclassmen well and helps keep everyone focused and on track.  My most favorite thing about him is how genuine and real he is.  He authentically engages with the lyrics of the songs we’re singing and genuinely worships whether we are singing in rehearsal or leading in chapel.

Logan loves Jesus. When asked about his faith, he said, “Jesus is somebody I can rely on. Knowing he is always there for me- no matter how hard I fall- is the most reassuring thing I have ever known. He is merciful and loving.”

Unsurprisingly, Logan also loves his family and enjoys serving others. Logan’s favorite family memory was a trip to South Africa last summer to serve those in need by providing food for a needy community. He enjoyed a treasured time with his family…serving, playing golf, and exploring South Africa.

When I first met Logan at the beginning of his junior year, he combined courtesy and self-assurance with the swagger common among high school athletes.  As the year progressed, I learned he had a tremendous work ethic, he lacked pretense, and he had a fabulous sense of humor.  I also discovered that, while playing multiple sports, Logan was heavily involved in the fine arts.  This told me that he was comfortable navigating multiple worlds and, more importantly, he had the courage to do so.

As a senior, I’ve seen Logan accept academic challenge and experience genuine achievement.  More importantly, I’ve learned that Logan thinks deeply about ultimate things, that he is genuinely tender-hearted, and that he truly cares for his fellow man.  I believe the roots of Logan’s faith are growing ever deeper and that he is in the process of developing a resilient faith.

As Logan prepares to graduate, he will undoubtedly continue to achieve great things. He plans to study finance in college.

Logan, you have come a long way since Peter Rabbit. We are proud of you!

I just want the CCA faculty to know how grateful I am for all of the things they have taught me over the years and not only academically but as a person. I’m so happy that I get to learn about each and every one of them. CCA opens up many opportunities for every person because you can do as much as you want whether it’s play 4 sports, sing in the choir, join student government, act in the musical or even do them all. It allows for even more connection with each other and even more strife as we learn about all the difficulties in life. It allows us to realize life is hard and will not come easy without hard work which should push us to be our best selves in everything we do. This place has helped me grow extremely in my faith and my connections with others. Thank you CCA!
