CCA Student Spotlight: Emily Briscoe

Meet Emily Briscoe, a standout senior at CCA, who has impressed faculty with her servant’s heart, her deep-rooted faith, and diligent work ethic.

Emily loves the community at CCA, where she is known by teachers and can interact with younger students, including her younger sister.

When Emily entered my classroom as a seventh grader, she was tentative and at times doubtful of her own abilities. Her maturity and growth over the last six years has been tremendous. I have watched her take risks, try new things, and embrace challenges. And, she has done it all with a quiet resolve and diligence that is admirable. Emily has a heart to serve others and is deeply rooted in her faith. The young lady who will receive her diploma in a few short months is the embodiment of all we want our graduates to be.

A testament to her dedication and hard work, Emily earned First Team All-District honors for soccer defense. She also claimed a TAPPS State Golf Championship and is an active member of the Junior PGA. In addition to her athletic achievements, Emily will be honored with the Daniel Service Award for completing an impressive 350 hours of community service during her high school years.

Emily is exceptional in everything she does. Her perseverance and determination cannot be manufactured. She has a work ethic that allows her to dominate on the course. She leads with God, Goals, Grind, and it brings her Growth. She has a servant’s heart and leads others to greatness. She is definitely one of a kind.

Emily is passionate about serving God’s people in all nations. In 9th grade, she went to Oaxaca, Mexico, to work with medical teams in a remote village. In 10th and 11th grade, she went with a team to Kenya and worked with children to introduce them to Jesus. Emily and her team reached over 10,000 kids as they traveled to multiple schools and orphanages every day.

Emily said, “I definitely left my heart in Africa.”

My Senior Thesis topic is “The Cost of Fame: How Celebrity Culture Affects Church Intergrity”. This topic cames easily based on the church culture we are experiencing all around us right now. As a pastor’s kid, I grew up with an amazing example in my dad, but as a family we have been closely affected by this topic. I want to see my generation approach church differently.

Emily’s love for the Lord, and her heart for the church is evidenced by her desire to advocate for sound teaching and training in godliness. I am encouraged to see this passion overflow into her research and preparation for senior thesis!

Ever since she can remember, Emily has been passionate about interior design. In 4th grade, she even dressed up as an interior designer for career day—a glimpse into the future she envisioned for herself. This fall, she will take the next step in making that dream a reality as she pursues a degree in Interior Design at Baylor University. Her ultimate goal is to own a residential design firm and create beautiful homes for her clients.

Emily, what truly sets you apart is your heart for others and your willingness to work hard. We can’t wait to see where the future takes you!
