Kindergarten

Your little one is active and constantly learning new things. As a parent, it’s important to find a hands-on learning environment where they can gain fundamental knowledge and skills as they begin their educational journey. In addition, knowing your child is loved and cared for while learning Christlike character and biblical values is essential to your child’s overall well-being.

At Covenant Christian Academy, you’ll find all this and more as your child receives a classical education from caring teachers who want the best for your child. Your kindergartener will also be immersed in learning activities and purposeful play that equips them for their transition into first grade.

Conveniently located in Colleyville, just minutes from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, CCA is a place where your child can truly flourish in kindergarten.

Learn Why Kindergarten Students Thrive at Covenant Christian Academy

Certified and caring teachers

As a parent, you want your child to receive the individual support and attention they need from their teachers. At CCA, our certified teachers are passionate about nurturing their students spiritually, academically, and socially.

Your little one will be in a small private school classroom that allows teachers to better identify where your child is academically and socially to best help them make progress. CCA teachers work closely with students through guided reading and math groups and encourage them to ask great questions, all of which will help them as they transition into first grade.

Inspired hands-on learning

Your kindergartner will learn from a curriculum designed to challenge but not discourage them. Kindergartners study Saxon phonics, reading, math, social studies, handwriting, Bible, and Nancy Larson Science. Each classroom includes smart board technology to further enhance the learning experience.

Encouraging purposeful play is key to your child’s success. At CCA, we want our students to develop their creativity and imagination, whether by tending the school garden, playing on one of our two playgrounds, or spending time in the library. Your little one will enjoy opportunities to develop coordination in social settings like art, PE, and music class. No matter their interests and skills, we want to meet them where they are and help them succeed.

Prioritizing safety

CCA puts a high priority on student safety. As a parent, we want you to know that all of our faculty and staff have extensive FBI fingerprinting and background checks. We keep our buildings and all classrooms locked with key card access only. All visitors are screened and licenses scanned through a national database before being allowed to enter the building.

Additionally, we run safety drills throughout the year for training, and our designated safety team monitors video surveillance, directs safety procedures, and assesses potential threats. Playgrounds are inspected annually. We take your child’s safety seriously.

What your kindergartener can expect at Covenant Christian

CCA kindergartners must be five years old before September 1. Their day starts at 8 a.m. and goes until 3:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday with an early dismissal of 2:45pm on Friday. Your child’s daily activities include prayer and pledges, Bible, learning centers, recess, math, music, art or PE, lunch, science or social studies, rest time, and reading.

As an extension of our private Christian kindergarten, after-school care is also available from 3:15-5:30 p.m. for an additional cost. Our Cougar Club offers PreK3-sixth grade students the opportunity to experience a biblically-based quality learning environment with cultural enrichment, recreation, and a wide variety of fun learning opportunities, including homework labs, and organized activities and recreation.

The best gift my kids received in kindergarten was a foundation that learning is fun and school is a loving, fair, encouraging place to be. The seeds that were planted when they were so young are a lifetime blessing and benefit to our children and our family as they grow and face challenges in school and life. Kindergarten teachers get to know each child’s unique quirks and gifts while loving and teaching them right at the child’s level. Our children have grown but their kindergarten teacher still hugs and encourages them every time she sees them. She is a partner in their education and future. Every CCA kindergarten teacher is as good as it gets!”

“I’m passionate about my job because God has called me to do it, so I give it all I’ve got for His glory. Christian Education is a great responsibility. It has a higher purpose than just helping students gain knowledge — it’s feeding their souls and helping students learn through a biblical worldview, thereby preparing them for God’s great calling on their lives.”
