Preschool

As a parent of a preschooler, it can be hard to leave them in someone else’s care. You know they need a solid foundation to prepare them for Kindergarten, but you also want to ensure they are being nurtured in a loving environment where biblical principles and Christlike character are a priority.

At Covenant Christian Academy, your child will be placed in a class with only nine to eleven other children. Your child will be taught by state-certified teachers who facilitate purposeful play and hands-on activities while giving individualized attention in a multi-sensory classroom — helping your child succeed. Your little one will feel cared for and known as they develop into who they are meant to be through parent involvement and school-home alignment. Weekly notes, papers, and e-mails are sent home to help you, as their parent, stay informed on your child’s growth and the milestones he/she achieves.

Why Families Choose Covenant Christian Academy

Passionate Teachers

Your child will learn from passionate and experienced teachers who meet each child where he/she is and encourages growth. Students will receive the help they need at each developmental stage of their learning. Throughout the day, our teachers inspire a love of learning not only in growing cognitively, but also socially and emotionally. Little learners gain confidence in developing friendships and becoming independent in a safe environment.

Classical Education

At this stage of development, your child has the ability to soak up an enormous amount of information! At CCA, we focus on this opportunity to lay a solid educational foundation that fosters your child’s natural curiosity and eagerness to learn. By immersing them in a Biblically based, classical curriculum that utilizes age-appropriate methods and strategies, your preschooler will participate in hands-on, fun, and engaging activities that encourage growth at their own pace. Students will experience learning in the following subjects to ensure Kindergarten readiness:

  • Bible
  • Math
  • PE
  • Phonics
  • Pre-Reading
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Fine Motor Skills/Handwriting
  • Gross Motor Skills/PE
  • Music
  • Art
  • Library
  • Garden

Interactive Learning

Like you, we know that play is a child’s most important work; therefore, we provide hands-on experiences in all areas of learning. Your child will experience academic concepts through multi-sensory activities, making certain each student is engaged and view learning as a joyful endeavor.

Your child will rotate through specific learning centers daily, where they will be encouraged to cooperate and play with classmates. From interactive smartboard lessons to outdoor exploration, we prioritize active learning because it’s how preschoolers learn best.

Character Development

Not only do you want your child to grow academically, but you also want him/her to develop character and integrity. At CCA, parents can have peace knowing we are committed to teaching the whole child and helping children grow cognitively, physically, emotionally, socially, and most importantly, spiritually. The Bible says in Luke 2:52 that “Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man.” In the same way, Jesus grew, our goal is to provide a learning environment where character and spiritual development are cultivated.

We do this at CCA daily by encouraging 14 honorable character traits. Teachers will call out these God-given traits in your child and acknowledge the positive behaviors. Students are affirmed and begin to internalize this encouragement, resulting in self-awareness and others-awareness. Your child will quickly learn how to honor God and others in words and actions.

Safety

Safety for our students will always be a top priority. Here are some of the measures we take at CCA to ensure safety:

  • Our faculty and staff have extensive FBI fingerprinting background checks
  • Buildings are locked with key card access only
  • Classroom doors remain locked while in use
  • Visitors must come to the reception area and have a driver’s license scanned through a national database before being allowed to enter the building
  • Video surveillance cameras are monitored continuously throughout campus
  • A trained security team is on campus throughout the school day
  • A full-time Registered Nurse is on campus full time
  • Emergency Drills are practiced regularly
  • Playground safety inspections are conducted annually

“I’m passionate about my job because God has called me to do it, so I give it all I’ve got for His glory. Christian Education is a great responsibility. It has a higher purpose than just helping students gain knowledge — it’s feeding their souls and helping students learn through a biblical worldview, thereby preparing them for God’s great calling on their lives.”
